Maiwald appoints Dr. Andreas Eisele as Counsel

Maiwald, one of the leading German patent law firms, has appointed Dr Andreas Eisele, a graduate physicist, as Counsel with effect from April 1, 2020.

The patent attorney, who has been working for Maiwald’s Munich office since 2017, strengthens the firm especially in the important sectors of optics, solid state physics, optoelectronics, imaging systems and medical technology.

Andreas Eisele studied physics with a minor in mathematics at the Ruprecht-Karls-University of Heidelberg, at whose Institute of Physical Chemistry he received his doctorate with a thesis on the development of apparatus and image processing for a new type of electron microscope with the grade “summa cum laude”.

After his doctorate, Andreas Eisele worked for a leading German manufacturer of optical devices for several years in the field of development and project management. He then also worked for this company as an external patent attorney for several years. Andreas Eisele graduated as “Master of Laws” (LL.M.) in European Intellectual Property Law and is a member of the Examination Commission for German Patent Attorneys.

At Maiwald, Andreas Eisele focuses on patent application procedures as well as opposition and conducts opposition and appeal proceedings. Furthermore, he prepares freedom-to-operate analyses, validity opinions and infringement analyses. “We are very pleased that Andreas Eisele supports our engineering team with his high level of technical expertise, especially in the field of optics, and with his many years of experience as a patent attorney.
