Melanie is a patent attorney at Maiwald. She studied chemistry at the University of Regensburg. In the course of her doctoral research, Melanie acquired specialized knowledge in the field of organic chemistry, in particular colloid chemistry.

Melanie’s professional activities include all aspects of patent prosecution including contentious proceedings before the EPO in the field of organic chemistry, pharmaceuticals, and plant protection. Her main tasks involve drafting and prosecuting patent applications relating to small molecules and formulations thereof. She has extensive experience in the field of drug delivery, e.g., in connection with transdermal and oral formulations.
