Pharma and Life Sciences: From Our Practical Experience – For Your Practical Application

On 11 April 2019, we were again pleased to be able to host another in our series of Maiwald events. On this occasion, the numerous invited guests heard six interesting talks on various aspects of pharma und life sciences.

Marco Stief introduced the speakers, who set themselves the task of helping the participants navigate the thicket of upcoming changes and current developments in the fields of pharma and life sciences.

Matthias Görich (pharmacist and drug information specialist) discussed life cycle management of drug approvals. Dr. Martin Huenges gave a practice-oriented talk on “Diagnostic Methods – how to establish patent infringement by restricting claims”.

Sebastian Haase spoke on the impact of the General Data Protection Regulation GDPR) on processes and procedures in the pharma and life science fields. Dr. Carsten Brockmeyer (Formycon AG) followed this up with a talk on current developments in the field of biosimilars in Europe and the USA.

Susanna Heurung discussed current trends in trademark case law and explained their implications for the pharma and life sciences.  Elke Wurster ended the practical part with a detailed overview of currently relevant compliance issues.

We were especially pleased that the participants and speakers took the opportunity to enjoy a Maiwald event highlight of early evening drinks on our roof terrace where, as uaual, lively and stimulating conversation was the order of the day.
