Protection and Enforcement of Software Inventions in DE, KR and US

A further Maiwald seminar took place in Munich in early November, this time on the topic “Protection and Enforcement of Software Inventions in Germany, Korea and the USA”. We were very pleased with the lively participation of our roughly 30 guests, and especially pleased about the positive feedback we received afterwards. Our grateful thanks go to our guests for their attentiveness and the interest shown in the topic (and in our firm).

The invited experts spoke on current important developments in Germany, Korea and the US and encouraged everyone to join in the follow-on discussion. One of our partners, Stefan Bianchin spoke on “German case law on infringement of standard-essential patents”. His talk was followed by that of attorneys Minho Lee and Daniel Kim of the Korean firm of Kim & Chang, who provided an overview of software patenting procedures in South Korea. Two partners from the American firm of King & Spalding, Natasha H. Moffitt and Lori A. Gordon, described procedural aspects of software litigation in the USA.
