It is official: On 17.2.2023 Germany has now also ratified the Agreement on a Unified Patent Court (UPC) and thus the start of the new Unified Patent Court (UPC) is fixed for 1.6.2023 (see PM BMJ of 17.2.2023). This is connected with the introduction of a European unitary patent. The start of a unified patent and patent court system, which has been very controversially discussed and negotiated for decades, is thus imminent.
