Stephan Maidl is a patent attorney trainee at Maiwald. His work mainly relates to intellectual property protection in the fields of mechanical and plant engineering as well as automotive and electrical engineering.

During his studies in mechanical engineering at the Technical University of Munich and Imperial College London, Stephan acquired extensive knowledge in the field of fiber-reinforced plastics (FRP). He used this as a basis on which to develop, in the context of his doctoral studies, an integrated sensor system for quality monitoring of an FRP production process. His work focused mainly on wireless measurement technology, energy harvesting, as well as image processing and data analysis using AI algorithms. His research results on digitalisation and Industry 4.0 have been successfully patented, published in scientific journals and presented at international scientific and industry-oriented conferences.
