Maiwald, one of Germany’s leading IP law firms, has appointed Dr Annelie Wünsche as partner with effect from 1 June 2021.
Annelie Wünsche studied biology with a special focus on biochemistry, cell biology, neurobiology and microbiology at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München. As part of her doctoral thesis at the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL) in Heidelberg, she investigated a cell nuclear membrane protein in living cells using, among other methods, mass spectrometry and quantitative microscopy. There she also worked on the development of software to automate the microscopic processes used.
Annelie Wünsche completed her patent attorney training at Maiwald and has been working as a patent attorney at the firm since 2014. She advises and helps public research institutes and biotechnology companies in building up their patent portfolios and advises manufacturers of generic drugs planning on entering the market. Further key areas are assistance with due diligence projects and obtaining supplementary protection certificates. For her work as a patent attorney, the Managing Intellectual Property named her a “Rising Star” in the years 2018, 2019 and 2020.
“With Annelie we are pleased to continue expanding our activities in the biotech sector and wish her all the best in her new position”, says Dr Martin Huenges, a partner at Maiwald.
