Sustainable development

As an internationally operating law firm, we at Maiwald take our social responsibilities very seriously. Sustainable development is for us a core corporate value. We adhere to the 17 goals of the United Nations Agenda for Sustainable Development adopted in 2015 (Agenda 2030). In practical terms, this means participating in numerous ecological and social projects whose aim is the protection and preservation of as wide a range of natural resources as possible. We take a similar approach to our ‘human resources’, creating the conditions to allow our employees to develop their potential to the full. We deal fairly with each other and support environmentally sustainable and socially conscious activities.

Health and well-being
We foster our employees' health by facilitating good work-life balance, and their physical health by supporting various fitness activities and – to give another example – by providing fruit and drinks at the workplace.
Advanced education and training
We offer our employees numerous training and development opportunities at the office (including seminars and language courses). In wider society, we routinely donate to various educational institutions (e.g. Stiftung Lesen, a reading initiative).
Gender equality
We place great emphasis on a balanced male/ female employee ratio from junior to management level. Equal pay is also high on our list of priorities.
Decent working conditions and economic growth
Our employees‘ family concerns are taken very much into account with flexible working hours and part-time working models, but also teamwork and task sharing.
Climate protection measures
We work exclusively with e-files, thereby drastically reducing paper consumption. We also help protect the environment by supporting bike actions and providing travel cost subsidies for those using public transport.
Peace, justice and strong institutions
Through our support for humanitarian projects, we actively work towards a better society.
