Sun Jin is a patent attorney at Maiwald. Her scientific background covers the fields of genetic engineering, biochemistry, biotechnology as well as molecular and cell biology. In addition to providing strategic advice to clients across a broad range of pharmaceutical and biotechnology issues, she is a highly skilled practitioner in the areas of patent prosecution and opposition proceedings.

During her doctorate at Yale University, she researched the molecular basis of PKD, a common kidney disease. Later, as postdoctoral associate at Yale, she identified and investigated a new gene that plays a crucial role in regulating skin stem cells and limb development.
